After having lunch at Friuli Trattoria an Italian inspired food place in Maginhawa, my cousin and I decided to have something sweet, we were supposed to get some nitrogen ice cream at Iscreamist but the line was too long, and no more tables available, so we decided to go somewhere else, hailed a cab and went to UP Town Centre (the taxi fare was around 100php from Maginhawa to UP Town). And decided to have cupcakes at Vanilla.
A quick trivia. Do you know that the owners of Kamiseta clothing line are also the owners of Vanilla, they collaborated with an international pastry chef.
The place was Instagram purrrfect (: The dainty interiors, the artsy glass doors, the design of the chairs, the pastel colors of the walls. It looks like a doll house on the outside. The downside is, they don’t have their own comfort room, well I guess majority of the stores in UP Town don’t, but Vanilla is just like 20 steps away from the malls comfort room, so its just fine at all.
I opted for a redvelvet cupcake and my cousin had tiramisu which is cake in a cup. The cupcake was delicious, not dry, and the frosting just compliment with the cupcake. The redvelvet cupcake cost 90php and the cake in a cup cake is 150php.
The other flavors and desserts they got: banana buttercream, coffee walnut salted caramel, malted milk chocolate and strawberry cheesecake, the list is comprised of the sweet, the decadent and the sinful. Cup-Cake — which the menu helpfully notes as “cake in a cup” — consists of panna cotta and seasonal fruit , tiramisu or banoffee. Cookie flavors include peanut butter raisin cookies and white and chocolate chunk macadamia. Muffins come in blueberry, strawberry and banana.
The bakery has multiple branches in the metro– Two Parkade BGC, Trinoma, Glorietta 3, Tomas Morato, Alabang Town Center, Evia Lifestyle Center.
