Eat Like a Viking!
Nine months ago, I was in Manila doing my review due to the pressure me and my friends decided that we should always go and eat out. A friend of mine saw the advertisement of Vikings on facebook and told us that our next stop should be there, I told her that they have one at the SM North but the line is so long, people are sitting outside waiting for their names to be called, I also added the place look luxurious, I mean talking about the chandeliers. In order that you should be able to dine there you should make a reservation before your designate date or else you’ll be on the waiting list and god knows when will your names be called. They open around 11am- 2:30pm for lunch and closes after in preparation for dinner which starts around 5:30pm and ends at 10:30pm, the prices varies whether you’ll dine at lunch or dinner and weekdays or weekend– Adult Weekday Lunch: 738php (+5% service charge) Adult Weekday Dinner: 938php (+5% service charge) Adult Weekends/Holiday Lunch & Dinner: 938php (+5% service charge) and for the Kids rate– Kids below 3 ft: FREE, Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekday Lunch: 208 (+5% service charge), Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekday Dinner: 308 (+5% service charge), Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekends/Holiday Lunch & Dinner: 308 (+5% service charge), Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekday Lunch: 408 (+5% service charge), Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekday Dinner: 608 (+5% service charge), Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekends/Holiday Lunch & Dinner: 608 (+5% service charge). They also have this Birthday Promo, he/she– Birthday celebrant of all ages can avail the birthday promo on the day itself and on their birthday month; Celebrants can eat for free ON THE DAY of their birthday on both lunch and dinner, as long as accompanied by ONE FULL PAYING ADULT. The requirements only is the celebrant should bring a valid ID.
I’ve been to two branches of Vikings– SM MEGAMALL and SM MARIKINA. I had my first experience at Megamall as a stress reliever and the second at SM Marikina for my friends birthday.
Upon entering the host will asked your namd and your reservation details, after he/she will guide you to your table, and if you have none, you’ll be in the waiting list, there’s an 90% chance you could not dine, as what I have experienced last December at NIU by Vikings it was due to my own inadvertence that I didn’t make a reservation and went there as a walk in, my number on the list is 15 and the host is still waiting for the other guests who made a prior reservations to arrive, and the hostess told me that the names on the waiting list can only enter if the table of guests who made a prior reservations will be cleaned-out, it was already 11am at that time and the buffet closes at 2:30pm. Imagine, can you still dine there without making a reservation? Sadly, NO, Vikings is always fully packed with customers.
Vikings have this hotel ambiance, their tables, the chandeliers, their interior is so beautiful and classy. And the array of dishes they offer are from different cuisines– from appetizers to desserts, they have Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Filipino, Mexican and etc. And their drinks are fantastic you got to choose from coffee, hot teas, teas, juice, sodas, and they have free beer (: So, here are some of the photos that I took, the first set are the ones taken from SM Marikina and the second squared photos are from Megamall.
To sum it all up, I had a great experience, always a happy tummy at the end of the dining experience. I want to try the NIU but they’ll be opening another branch in Cebu soon, I guess the latter is the top of the list now. And I’ve got one advice, don’t get too much food or focus on one cuisine, you’ll end up getting full easily and won’t be able to try the others. Have fun reading!
